A Lifetime Experience!!

Dear Visitors,

Catalina and I want to invite you to enjoy Chile. And remember this idyllic place for your winter holidays.

We really wish you come here with us!  What a GREAT sailing, cultural and wine adventure in Chile at Its spectacular in every regard. Pristine sailing and Big trout on fly.  Marvelous shore lunches cooked over an open fire as you drank wine and watched!

Five-Star evening meals served with an elegant variety of the finest Chilean wines and a premium lodge service with overview to the fiord.

We love nature and enjoy liberty, we suggest a philosophy of travel born out of the desire to explore the natural and cultural environment of the remote.

South America is one of the least-known areas in the world, as well as one of the least explored. It is a region open to our imagination, with much to discover: volcanoes, fiords, salt flats, 1000-year-old forests, lakes and rivers. At the same time South America offers a journey through history, as the cultures that originated here thousands of years ago have maintained their ways to this day.

Journey to one of the most pristine coastlines on the planet aboard Cloe, a new expedition motor sail designed for natural history explorations. The dramatic landscape rivals the fjords of Ireland. Guides introduce you to the rivers, lakes, coast and mountains. This is one of the most interesting small motor sail to come along in Chile.

When a big rainbow trout eats a small sinking fly and suddenly feels the pressure of your line, he reacts with the energy of a bee-stung packhorse. Your line tightens instantly, your arms and wrists are pulled towards the water, and your rod contorts into a dangerous half-circle bend when you set the hook.  The fight begins and its angling fun at its best.  The world slows as you play this fantastic fish, engulfed by the pristine beauty of southern Chile. And you get to do it all day. Everyday.

You dont have to be a professional fly-caster to catch fish here!

Sail the fjords and explore the remote coast of Patagonia, hiking the temperate rainforest or relaxing on deck taking in magnificent scenery. Inside the lodge or at Cloe motor sail there is a crew of fly-fishing guides and local naturalists for daily excursions, as well as a top chef to provide food and comfort during your stay.

Island City tours: Visit to Castro, Dalcahue, Achao, Quinchao and Curaco de Velez area. This contains many little villages where on all those you can visit the churches built by 1700. All made of wood without nails. Whole is recognized as Humanity Patrimony since 2000 because of his church presence. For non-anglers we have a special book selection about the island and Chile, outdoor activities nearby the lodge such as hiking, canoes for the fiord and very interesting wine tasting or gourmet cooking classes.

We had attended plenty of couples with us, long-time friends or new visitors. They mainly flew from Miami to Puerto Montt. We met them at the airport, then driven thru scenic countryside for about two hours to the lodge.  En route, we passed thru some of the most beautiful country ever seen, combining the snow-capped Andes Mountains, emerald blue Pacific seaside and lush vegetation at every turn.  You would have taken five rolls of film just on the ride from the airport to the lodge!  The fishing villages we drove thru were neat, clean and bustling with activity.  Local markets displayed everything from hand-made crafts to wool garments, and from local taste treats to brightly-costumed story-tellers talking to spell-bound audiences of little children.

The lodge is built almost exclusively of wood; the lumber having been taken from local forests.  It sits atop a high bluff overlooking the fiord, providing a breath-taking panorama of wild flora and fauna, including daily sightings of dolphin playing in the fiord near Cloe Motor Sail, and seabirds by the tens of thousands wheeling and sailing past the large glass windows.  The lodge is sparkling clean.  The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with nice view of the fiord and forested hillsides.  This lodge is dedicated to the highest standards of personal service and guests comfort, and it shows!  Cuntuy Fiord offers genuine hands-on attention.

We could fill several pages here just describing the food and wine selection!  Suffice it to say, everything is of mouth-watering, gourmet quality, and everything youll drank is most enjoyable!  In the evenings after a memorable meal, youll often sat by the windows and watched the sunset magically change the fiord from orange to red to purple.  Catalina will bring you a plate of her fresh, home-made chocolates along with a cup of either rich, flavorful coffee or relaxing herbal tea, whichever we requested.

For some, getting used to the quietness surrounding you may be a struggle. In the midst of lush trees and native vegetation, opening your window allows you to experience the fragrant, clean air and the seemingly orchestrated sounds of birds. Youll gain a new appreciation of the night sky. You will see an incredible number of celestial objects, not to mention two galaxies and the Southern Cross which are not visible from much of the Northern Hemisphere.

Shore lunches included roasted lamb, beef or pork, flavored with pure sea salt (no iodine) served with a variety of grilled veggies, and followed by a scrumptious dessert.

When a five-pound rainbow eats a small sinking fly and suddenly feels the pressure of your line, he reacts with the energy of a bee-stung packhorse. Everyday.  Youll caught lots of fish daily!

Some days you`ll fish in a large lake.  On others we floated down a small river.  The fish are plentiful and cooperative.  You dont have to be a professional fly-caster to catch fish here!

You`ll spent seven days enjoying this angling-eating-scenic paradise.  Youll also took photo trips, took tours of several 200-year-old churches, and shopped for local wares where bargaining is expected and adds to the fun.  You can bought good German beer in a grocery store for $3 a six-pack.  Some friends found a hand-carved fish that was perfectly beautiful, and bought it for about one-tenth of the price in the USA.  Also brought back a case of fantastic Chilean wines, and wished you could have filled the airplane with more!
