Fly Fishing In Northern Spain

Come fly fishing for wild brown trout in green Galicia, Northern Spain's best kept secret. Galicia is known as the land of a thousand rivers from rushing mountain torrents to the mighty Mino, it is the green Jewel in Spain's crown. Situated in the North West of Spain above Portugal Galicia is full of history from the world heritage site of roman Lugo to the ancient pilgrimage town of Santiago de Compostela. Wildlife abounds in this glorious area. Fish with Kingfishers by your side, watch the Eagles, Kites and Storks soar above you, while Deer and Wild Boar come for a drink. Otters play in the waters and the banks are covered in wild flowers from orchids to jonquils. Fishing in Spain at it's best. A fishing holiday to remember in a beautiful location.

We have put together a four night guided fishing package at only 460 Euros to help you get to know this glorious area. It runs from Mid April to the end of September and is generally Wednesday to Sunday to help you take advantage of flights.

The package includes:

- 4 nights accommodation in a twin room, price based on 2 sharing. (Single supp. 25 Euros)

*(Lunch will be taken at local restaurants close to the fishing venues and is not included in the price)

Flights are available to Santiago de Compostela from Stanstead via Ryanair and from Dublin via Aer Lingus, there are also flights to La Coruna from Heathrow via Vueling Airlines. Flights are usually very reasonable if booked well in advance.

Fly Fishing In Northern Spain -
Galicia is a beautiful part of Northern Spain it is green and vibrant with glorious scenery, mountains and plains, hundreds of rivers and a long rugged coastline. Rivers are small and medium sized, generally tree lined, the catch is wild brown trout which are very wiley so the fishermen have to be too. Sedges, beetles and nymphs fish really well, replacement flies are available.

Chest Waders are essential as there is very little bank fishing so don�t forget to pack them. If you don�t want to risk your pride and joy you can hire rods and reels for only 20 Euros for the duration of your stay (Please mention when booking).

Your accommodation will be in our beautiful restored stone farmhouse dating back to 1850.

The twin rooms are basic with a bathroom shared by two rooms. There is a comfortable lounge where you can relax with a drink, read a magazine or we have lots of books to read or swap. Soft drinks*. Beer*. Wine*, tea and
coffee are available at any time. (*at an extra cost)

You will eat every evening in the beautiful beamed dining room in a relaxed atmosphere with good food and the company of like minded people.
Dinners are home cooked with fresh local ingredients, breakfast includes tea, coffee, cereal and toast.

Spend time outside, catch a few rays in the garden or try one of the many beautiful walks through traditional Galician farmland.

We are Kevin and Louise we moved from Newcastle to Galicia in 2006 after having lived in Menorca in our younger days. Kevin is mad about fly fishing and this area is any fly fisherman�s dream so here we are. Kevin has spent the last three years testing the waters of Galicia for good fishing spots, he will guide you around the beautiful rivers and join you in his passion fishing! All levels of fishermen are catered for from the novice to the professional.
We have a dog called Ben he is a Springer Spaniel and has full run of the house except the guest rooms. Like all of his breed he is slightly mad but a bit old now so you�ve got to love him.

The fishing season in Galicia runs from Mid March to the end of September, and the package runs from mid april to the end of September as the rivers tend to be very full at the begining of the season.
