Unique among British Columbia Fishing Lodges due to great accessibility, guests of ours enjoy fishing packages customized to their fishing preference and length of holiday. Days begin early with breakfast prepared at the lodge while the fishing gear is being loaded. Shuttles are made in the resort Suburban to the agreed fishing waters. Guests are pampered from day start to end with top quality gear, valuable fishing tips, excellent meals and snacks, and above all top notch service. Truly an experience to last a lifetime!
Freshwater Fishing Packages
Include:
Deluxe lakeview accommodation at our Lodge, fully guided trips to active waters, use of new 9.5ft pontoon boats with oars and flippers, transportation, all meals and snacks, use of resort facilities and all taxes for two people. Rods and reels can be provided with prior arrangements. Extraordinary transportation (ie: jet boating), British Columbia fishing licences and gratuities are not included.
There is awesome fly fishing in British Columbia's huge number of major river systems. The Cariboo Region alone boasts 17,500km of productive fishing rivers! Many of them relatively unknown...
Guests of the Resort can choose to fish 4 major river systems: the Cariboo River, the Quesnel River, the Horsefly River and the more remote (but oh, so satisfying) Mitchell River.
The best time to fly fish Cariboo rivers is mid-June into July for the Salmonfly hatches, July/August for all around exciting trout fishing, and September/early October for the salmon runs.
A fishing trip to a British Columbia Fishing Lodge in the wintertime??? Your fly fishing rod might be stored away for the winter but don't give up hope of hooking a fish before spring. At our Resort, ice fishing is in full swing by mid-January for Kokanee, Rainbow Trout and the occasional Burbot (freshwater ling cod). You can't say you've fished British Columbia until you've tried ice fishing!
If stillwater fly fishing eludes you (as it does many accomplished fly fishers) you need to fish British Columbia's Cariboo region with our guides. One of the newest high-profile fishing regions in British Columbia, the Cariboo is home to only a few fly fishing resorts guiding into secluded and deserted lakes... homes to big Rainbow Trout!
We regularly guide to more than 35 productive lakes surrounding the resort. Learn to read stillwaters and how to present flies to foraging trout. Guided trips are all-inclusive with gear, boats (9' pontoon boats fully rigged with depth sounders and fish finders), transportation, meals and more.
Don't let inexperience stand in the way of your fly fishing trip to British Columbia's Cariboo! Simply schedule a lesson with one of the fly casting instructors at the Fishing Lodge.

Location and Fishing Information
Beautiful Lake Fishing Lodge And Spa - Our Lake Resort is equal distance from the cities of Williams Lake and Quesnel making it easily accessible to local events, adventure activities and attractions such as:
Historical tours of Barkerville
Mountain biking 'extreme downhill' on a fantastic trail network in Williams Lake
Whitewater river rafting on the Cariboo and Fraser Rivers
Exploring an authentic Native Village and enjoying a traditional feast
Jet boat touring
Visiting a real ghost town and learning to pan for gold
Horseback riding
Over 8000 lakes span the region. The great variety provides spectacular fishing all season long, however May, June and September are the best months for luring big, hungry fish to a surface presentation (dry fly).
Our Lodge is the only resort on Tyee Lake, a locally renowned lake both summer and winter. Rainbow trout averaging 1 - 3lbs (up to 18lbs Gerrard strain), and a soaring number of Kokanee (land-locked Sockeye salmon) to 2lbs are prolific in the lake. Trolling is a common method as the lake reaches 140ft. Fly fishing is excellent in the shoals and during hatches. One of our guests was thrilled to 'sight-fish' for rainbow trout with a fly-rod (wet patterns are most popular) within view of the resort. Mayfly and caddis fly hatches occur all summer long and during the spring, dragonfly, damselflies and boatman cloud the shoreline. The Kokanee spawn in the early fall (mid August to October) when fishing drops off for a period until ice-fishing begins (usually around 2nd week of January). Ice-fishing is a favored winter pastime - especially at Tyee Lake. Fishers gather on the ice around drilled 6" or 8" holes. With a 'shorty' rod and plenty of a favorite attractant, time is spent storytelling (read: lying and tall tales) waiting for the bobber to drop. It doesn't take long to catch enough for dinner (daily limit for kokanee is 5 ). Clear sunny days and breathtaking snow-covered landscape are enough for the occasional fisher who goes away 'skunked'.

Accommodation:
The lodge is reminiscent of Swiss design with fine attention to detail and excellent craftsmanship. Cool in the summer and warm in the winter, air conditioning is unnecessary. Your overall senses are filled with comfort and welcome while indoors.
A comfortable library greets guests in the main lobby. The seating around the fireplace with a view of the lake is perfect for reading or playing one of the many board games. You're also welcome to borrow a wide selection of DVD and VHS movies or X-Box games. That is, unless you prefer a relaxing soak in our indoor 8-person hot tub.
