3 Day Campout On The Fabled Grande Ronde

An instructional guide service which has specialized in flyfishing steelhead and salmon since the mid eighties, Mike and Dennis have helped both novice and experienced anglers, bring steelhead to the fly.

Floating the river.... but wading each pool. Mike and Dennis use both large rafts, as well as pontoon boats as Transportation. Fishing is generally done by wading each pool.

From the Situk River in Alaska, to the Grande Ronde River in Eastern Washington. The calendar year takes Dennis and Mike to prime steelhead fishing, twelve months of the year. Their moto "We only want to be there when the fishing is the best".

The 3 day Cabin/Campout:

Anglers begin their 3 day adventure from Washington's Bogans Oasis, overlooking the Grande Ronde River.

Plan on lots of fishing:

Day 1 fishing starts early and finishes at nightfall. We fish & float many of the productive pools only minutes from Bogan's. Comfortable lodging and wonderful meals provided from the lodge. (No extra costs!)

Day 2 Begins as Day 1 but after another fishing morning a splendid luncheon provided, anglers will gather their camping supplies as we head off to our mid-river camp. After settling in, angler should expect to flyfish steelhead in some more of the finest dry-line waters of the Grande Ronde.

Day 3 campout finishes the 3 day adventure. Stay as long as you like. The outfitted camp is yours for the stay.

About the fishing:

Absolutely the greatest rush in freshwater, is raising steelhead to surface flies. One of the finest steelhead streams in the world, for swimming surface flies, is Washington's own Grande Ronde River, and its wild summer steelhead. Dennis and staff has been guiding the GR. since the mid eighties, and now the Guides are ready to show you how to fish it. These 3 day flyfishing Cabin/campouts will cover all aspects of floating and sinktip line presentations as you float and fish some twenty miles of this world class fishery. Skaters, bombers, grease lining, wet fly swing on an open loop, which pools to fish, what flies to fish, and how to fish them. Anglers will have the option to float in single pontoon rafts, on this multiple day expedition. Only six anglers are allowed per trip, while you are fishing from sunrise to sunset. There are so many pools!
