Location and Fishing Information

Angler's Paradise In Northern Saskatchewan - Welcome to a fisherman's dream come true!

This sportsmans paradise, located in northern Saskatchewan, will provide the most incredible wilderness fishing adventure that you and your guests could ever imagine. Whether it be epic battles with trophy size Northern Pike, the non-stop action of world class Walleye fishing or a day trip to a secluded, inland lake teeming with Lake Trout, you can tailor your trip to make your dreams become reality. We have it all and more! Located on the Potter Rapids of the pristine Churchill River system, you couldn't ask for a more beautiful and peaceful wilderness setting. Escape from the pressure of the daily grind and enjoy a relaxing stay at one of the premier fly-in fishing lodges in northern Canada.

We are a first-class, full service fishing lodge set up to spoil even the most finicky fisherman. Our fully modernized cabins provide all the comforts of home (electricity, hot water, and private baths) without the intrusions from the outside world. Each morning you and your guests will depart for an unforgettable day of guided fishing on one of Canada's most productive waters. Our guides are all Cree Indians who grew up on the Churchill and they know where to find the hottest fishing action and biggest lunkers. A highlight of every fishing day is the shore lunch that our guides prepare with the catch of the day. After an exciting day of fishing, you and your guests can gather on the deck overlooking the rapids or gather in the main lodge to enjoy the "fish tales" inspired by the day's activities. A hearty supper, served family style, in our main lodge is the perfect ending to a perfect day.

Our service is second to none! No more hauling food and sleeping bags around. No more cooking your own meals or making your own bed. No more separate charges for beverages, boat rentals, fuel, guide service or fishing licenses. No hidden costs! All you need to do is gather your fishing gear & your fishing buddies then get to Saskatoon. From there, just leave the rest to us.

If a trip to the northern Canada wilderness is in your future, please contact us to arrange your dream trip to our Wilderness Lodge.

The Wilderness Lodge is located in the Canadian Province of Saskatchewan. The camp (formerly known as "Drinking Falls Lodge") is located on the banks of the pristine Churchill River, approximately 45 air miles from La Ronge. This site is the finest on the Churchill River as it sits on the "Class V" Potter Rapids. The opportunity to stand within 15 feet of a rapid of this size is absolutely overwhelming. Many glorious days of fishing have ended on the spacious deck overlooking these magnificent rapids.

Travel to the Lodge (LaRonge, Saskatchewan) is available via commercial or private aircraft or automobile. Commercial air travel to Saskatoon is available through Northwest Airlines or Air Canada. Once in Saskatoon, you will board a Transwest Air plane for a short 90 minute flight to LaRonge. Most of our guests can arrive at the Lodge on the same day they depart from their home city.  However, in the event that an overnight stay in Saskatoon is required, we will make arrangements with Days Inn - Saskatoon, who offers our guests a reduced fishermen rate.

Upon arrival in La Ronge, you will be shuttled to the Lac La Ronge launch site for the scenic 25 minute float plane trip to the camp. Angler Rapids contracts with Transwest Air to provide chartered float plane service from La Ronge to the camp. The workhorse in the Transwest Air float plane fleet is the de Haviland Twin Otter, capable of carrying up to 12 passengers plus luggage. Transwest Air is a fully licensed and insured regional carrier based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.

If you travel by private aircraft, La Ronge is equipped with a 5,000 foot runway. For those guests wanting to make arrangements for a private charter into LaRonge from Calgary/Edmonton, we recommend Morgan Air Services.

Accommodation:

We host a wide variety of guests, from individuals & families to large corporate gatherings. The camp can comfortably accommodate any size party. Past large group outings have included corporate retreats, employee incentive trips, business client outings and family reunions. Entertaining that special group has never been so easy. We welcome any size party and in many instances, we are willing & able to reserve the entire camp for larger groups, thus giving additional privacy and personal care to the guests.

The accommodation has been built with the comfort and privacy of its guests in mind. All guest quarters are separate log cabins, detached from the main lodge, with a total capacity of 36. All cabins have their own bathroom & shower facilities. Cabins are heated for comfort on those cool Canadian nights. Each cabin has a refrigerator to stock your favorite beverage. Daily housekeeping services are also included.

The main lodge consists of the kitchen, dining and meeting facility. We maintain a general store to outfit our guests with any additional equipment or tackle purchases that they may need. Within the main lodge there is also a card room for those guests that want to try their luck in a friendly game.

The lodge is always staffed with courteous, professional guides, housekeepers, cooks and managers. As our guest, your comfort and enjoyment is our top priority. The camp cooks are selected for their ability to serve first-class, family-style meals. They are always prepared to accommodate our guests with special dietary needs.

Available Dates:

Our season runs from the first week in June through the last week in August. We offer 3-day, 4-day & 5-day trips. Our trips are all inclusive, as described above. We offer a 10% discount to groups of 8 or more. Please feel free to contact us about special circumstances concerning your group.

"Lithuania was the most raw and breath-taking fly fishing experiences I have ever felt. I spent many a dime in search of something but not knowing what until I hired your services. The culture, people, food and rivers were truly amazing. Why didn't I think of something different before now?
Thanks Ripley."
