Salmon Fishing in Ketchikan

Salmon Fishing in Ketchikan

Alaska (AK) — Package: 200164

Package Details and Information:

We pride ourselves on giving the best fishing trip possible.  I've fished all over S.E. Alaska, and have proudly called Ketchikan my home for the past 19 years. Even after fishing out of Ketchikan since I arrived here, I can't wait for each season to roll around.

I hope to share my enthusiasm for chasing salmon and halibut with you in the near future. Ketchikan is an area everyone should experience at least once. Although once you get a taste of the fishing, you'll be back year after year.

We invite you, the experienced angler or the first timer, to come spend some time chasing trophy salmon and halibut with us in this beautiful country.

While you're fishing you are very likely to see whales, seals, sea lions, bears or deer. Every trip we see bald eagles soaring, fishing, or sitting on their nests. You'll be able to get good close up shots of eagles coming down for bait right next to the boat.

A floatplane ride can be set up for you to explore the inland alpine lakes and massive mountains teaming with mountain goats, bears and wolves. Or we'll help you arrange a flight that lands and allows you to fly fish or cast for trout or grayling.

Location and Fishing Information

Salmon Fishing in Ketchikan - Beautiful Ketchikan is surrounded by healthy rivers that draw thousands upon thousands of salmon back to the area every year. We're located just under 700 miles from Seattle.

Alaska Airlines flies in 3 times a day with a short 1 hour and forty five minute flight from Seattle.
We sit right in the middle of some of the most productive fishing in the entire state of Alaska. In fact, Ketchikan is billed as the salmon capital of the world. But it doesn't end there. We also have a excellent bottom fishery. While fishing for halibut on the ocean floor you're likely to catch a wide variety of bottom fish.

Some of these are red snapper, ling cod, sharks, sea bass, rock cod, grey cod and black cod just to mention a few. The Ketchikan area holds all five species of salmon. And they 're returning to our area in excellent numbers. Just recently, we've had the best king salmon fishing  in many years. The fish were not only abundant , but they were big!  The largest landed by us weighed in at a whopping 66.4 pounds! And needless to say, they all taste great.

"Just a few words from the Danish school teachers as a big "thank you" for an unforgettable stay at your magnificent lodge. We enjoyed the cozy cabin very much, and were stunned by the surroundings. Great hospitality, lazy black bears and big Coho's on the fly all in all made a huge impression."
