Location and Fishing Information

Salmon And Sea-Trout Encounters - The river Eden in Cumbria flows through some of the most spectacular geology and stunning scenery on it's long northward journey to the Solway. The catchment for the Eden consist of the Pennines to the east, and the  fells of the Lake District to the west. Access is from the M6 at J42 to 44.
There is the choice of a few  different quality beats on the lower and middle Eden. There are four distinct runs of salmon throughout the season starting in January, the spring run, the summer run in June, grilse in July and August and the back-end run, ending in October. Given good water conditions the fishing can be exceptional, low water the lower beats fish well, high water the middle river. The sea-trout come in from April with the best being from the end of May/June/July, you can expect some serious action in the dark at this time of year.
Although there are no method restriction's, fly fishing is the most enjoyable and satisfying.
