Casting Tuition And Guiding In Wales
Powys, Wales — Package: 32001233
Package Details and Information:
I am a qualified coach able to teach fly casting. I can teach all abilities from absolute beginners breaking into the sport through to more experienced anglers wanting to iron out existing problems, refine their skills or master casting techniques such as roll casting, the use of hauling and double hauling casting to improve fishing in windy conditions and presentation casts.
I can offer a guiding service on the rivers and stillwaters of Wales and the Borders, for trout and grayling and also give advice on where and how to fish, whatever location you may choose.
Guiding can be offered on a one to one basis or in groups. In the winter months I can run guiding trips for grayling fishing, showing where and how to fish for them. You can enjoy fishing in some of the most picturesque parts of the country and catch some lovely fish. If you require a longer stay I can sort out accommodation for you, or provide you with information so you can make your own arrangements.
Grayling Fishing Days Out
I will be running grayling fishing days on the Severn, Wye and the river Dee during the winter months, as it is impossible to know what the weather will be doing, a month or a week or so in advance, if you e-mail me to say you are interested, i will put you on a secure file, then when the weather and the grayling are playing the game, I will get in touch to arrange a day out on which ever river is fishing best at the time, this will save you being disappointed when the river is not in good shape and possibly travelling a long way.
While you are out on the river or mountain lake there is a chance you may see soaring birds of prey, anything from Red kites to Sparrow Hawks, Kestrels and Buzzards. There are also King fishers, Herons, Wagtails and Dippers and at certain times of the year we have visiting wading birds like Oyster catchers, Sandpipers and Curlews to name a few.
You can also see Otters and Foxes, a very rare find is the 5 spotted ladybird, once thought extinct.
The tackle I would recommend if you are going to fish the rivers or mountain lakes for wild brown trout , would be a rod of any thing between 8 .5 - 9.5 ft for a 4-5 #, coupled with a floating line, tippet material from 2-6 lbs breaking strain.
If you wish to fish the larger reservoirs then step the tackle up a bit to a 9-10 ft rod for a 6-7# line, and use a array of densities of fly

"My trip was absolutely the finest fishing adventure Ive had to date. Fishing the Alagnak was just unbelievable, the sockeye salmon were plentiful, and the scenery and peaceful surroundings were just phenomenal. The guides were extremely helpful, the equipment was reliable, and the whole operation was first rate. Definitely an experience I would love to repeat."
