Bow River Drift Boat Fishing
Canada, Alberta — Package: 300729
Package Details and Information:
Full Day Bow River Drift
Fly fishers from around the world come to Calgary to fish the lower Bow River. This scenic and productive stretch of water runs southeast from the city of Calgary to the Carseland weir and can be comfortably floated in three days. The average rainbow trout or brown trout caught is in the 15 to 17 inch range but locals tend to be disappointed if, at the end of the day, at least one fish exceeding the 20 inch mark hasn't been landed.
Your guide will pick you up at your place of accommodation and if necessary a stop will be made at a local shop where you can purchase your WIN Card and Sportfishing Licence. Upon arrival at the launch site you will gear up and discuss some of the strategies and techniques that will lead to a successful and enjoyable day on the river.
Nymphing is the most successful method of fishing on the Bow but streamer fishing and dry fly fishing are also part of the routine. Regular stops will be made to allow you to spend time wading the river so you can more thoroughly fish the river's many seams, holes, and riffles.
After a short lunch break you will get back to fishing. A typical day on the Bow lasts from 8 to 12 hours and we are willing to remain on the water as long as light and weather conditions permit.
We provide transportation to and from your place of accommodation, fly rods and reels, flies, a deli lunch, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages. Waders and wading boots may be available from your guide.
This package is for one or two fishers.
